Stitched on 32 count Opalescent Raw Linen
with JAR Designs ""Perfect Pine" and Crescet Colours "Cupid"
While watching the Olympics I finished stitching this ornament for the ILCS Blind Ornament Exchange. I would have finished it into a ornament but I'm having a problem deciding what color fabric to use for the back. I have some really nice gold ribbon to use on the edge. What do you think, Red or Green for the back?
Going to be another day of sports while stitching today. I'm going to be working on "Pansies Please" while going between the Olympics and NASCAR. Since today is Basketball at the Olympics it will be more NASCAR, I hate Basketball and don't like the idea that they allow the Pros to play. I think the Olympics should remain for amaturs only.
Until Next Time.....Happy Gold Metal Stitching

Looks lovely Rene - I've just finished one in this series too - it's on its way to an exchange, so can't post pictures yet.
Ohhhh....this is a beauty Rene. Absolutely lovely. It will make the most gorgeous ornament no matter what backing you'll choose. I love it.
What concerns the backing, depends a bit on the motif your backing material has. You'll see what it "does" when you lay them next to the stitched piece.
In general I would say red....simply because there is more green then red in the stitching and a red backing would balance it out. But then again, your green fabric might suit better, it's hard to say without seeing it.
Nice finish Rene, my first instinct was go with green, but then I think a nice dark red would really look nice with the flower.....probably either will look great!
very nice Rene as usual. I would pick a dark red. Good luck in deciding.

The ornament is very pretty! I would go with a red. I am not a big basketball game either. I just mainly watch the UConn team if they are in the finals. lol
I'm a sucker for green and gold on Christmas ornies.....
Beautiful stitching as always. I've been meaning to ask, you watch Nascar, so do you also watch the indy cars?? NZ does now that Scott Dixon is doing so well :)
Beautiful finish
The ornie is beautiful! Off the bat I say red, but if the green has gold...it might be the better choice. I am as confused as you are!! LOL I am sure that whatever you choose, it will beautiful as is the rest of your work.
Ooooh, that looks pretty!
that looks pretty, Rene! I think I'd prefer red for the back, because the stitching has more green already.
I think so about the Olympics, although I'm not really into sports ;)
kikie from ILCS
Beautiful! I think a deep crimson backing would be pretty to finish off with
