Monopoly Monday SAL

Finally finished Page 2 and one side (Except for Community Chest) is finished.

The top picture of what is completed so far and the second picture is just Page 2. At this rate it's going to take me all year to finish. I was going to start page 3 but I must have jammed my little finger on my left hand because it hurts making it hard to hold all that fabric.
On to finishing the LK Stamp today and maybe start another little project for Easter.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Weekend Update

I think in true....the older you get, the faster time flies by. Is March really almost over? Before we know it Summer will be here and I'll be hiding out inside with the A/C going full blast and not not going out until the sun goes down. It was a busy weekend stitching wise here and I did get some good stitching time in.

WIP/Start......

I finally started the LK April Stamp. I didn't have all the WDW colors called for in the chart so used some DMC and other overdyed from my stash. A few hours more and this should be ready for the April Shelf.

FINISHES....

"Good Things..." by Lizzie Kate
stitched on 28 count natural Linen with
WDW, GAST, Dinky Dyes Silk
This is the project that the Frogs has so much fun with. I had lots of fun picking out colors for this one. I wasn't sure at first about the choices but the more I stitched the better I liked it. The centers of the flower were charted to be stitched but I thought the buttons were a cute addition.
Now I would like to do a different type of PIF with the chart. Just a couple of easy rules for this PIF.
1. Leave a comment here on my blog
2. You will have 4 weeks to stitch the chart and post the finish on your blog
3. After the finish post the PIF and send it on to someone else who would like to stitch it (with the same rules)
4. When no one else wants to stitch return the chart to me.
If more than one person would like to stitch this I'll draw the name of the next lucky person next weekend.
I also got into a finishing mood and pulled out this Needleroll and put it together. I had been trying to find the perfect ribbon but no such luck so just got some pink ribbon. I also finished two more projects but they are for the birthday exchange and I'll share them when the Birthday girls open their gifts. Did another little project but again it's a gift so can't share yet.

Date Night.....

Friday was a busy day for us. Tracy had to have lab work done in the early AM. This normally takes forever since he has to wait and wait and wait. Well this time I decided I would try making a appointment for the blood test and boy am I glad I had that brain storm. We got to the lab and instead of going in with him I went across the street to Starbucks for coffee and some quiet time to just sit, read and enjoy my coffee. I barely got settled and my book open before he was done. Like anyone after fasting blood work he was hungry so we headed for the first place he saw for some breakfast and I started stitching on the LK Stamp while we waited.
Next off we went to do some shopping for the things for the Seasonal Shelf for April. JoAnn's was our first stop and a good stop it was. I found lots of really cute stuff and the best part was it was all on sale for 40-50% off. I even found the perfect pre-cut mat for my "Not Tonight..." project so it will be framed this week. We hit a couple of other stores and then came home with all our goodies and I spent the afternoon stitching while Tracy took a nap. When he woke up he wanted to go out for dinner (you know I didn't say "No dear, I'd rather cook" hehehe). We headed out to our favorite buffet to have a major pig out. After eating we sat down at a slot machine and got lucky. Within 10 minutes we had won enough between us to pay for dinner and a little extra to do some more tourist type shopping. Here is what it got me......
Froggie Sun Catchers!
I just love them! I put one in the bathroom and the other two are by my computer. I am soooo spoiled
I'm back to working on the Monopoly SAL today and should have page 2 done today and maybe even start on the next side.
Well I've rambled enough for now so ....
Until Next Time.....Have a Great week with lots of Happy Stitching

WOO HOO A BAP Finish

After the fiasco visit from the frogs last week I decided to just work on the LK Christmas Flip and see if I could get at least one BAP done. This has been all that I have worked on this week and finally a finish. If you want to see it larger just click on the picture.

LK Christmas Double Flip
Stitched on 32 count White Opalescent Linen
with DMC
I don't think I ever want to stitch another project this large on this fabric but I am glad I used it this time.
Now I get to reward myself with a new start...hummm maybe a Victoria Sampler that I already have kitted up.
Thanks for looking and maybe even doing a Happy Dance with me Dancing

Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

PIF of Sorts

I was the lucky winner of a give away on Courtney's blog and thought it would be nice to pay back my good luck with a give away of my own. This little kit, while very cute, is something I'll never stitch. It contains Adia fabric, threads and chart to complete the design. It would be easy enough for a child to stitch with some practice. If you would like this chart just leave a comment and if there is more than one person who would like it I'll have Tracy draw a name and announce the winner here next weekend.

This is just a little Thank You for following my stitching on my Blog.

Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

It Must Be Spring

The temps have been in the low 80's and the Frogs have come out to attack my stitching. I thought I was on a good roll after working on the Monopoly board, boy was I wrong. I wanted to try to get "Good Things..." done but the frogs had a different idea for me. I was stitching away and felt like something was wrong. I don't know how I did it but when I stitched the border I was off by a mile. Out came the "stitch picker" and I took out the offending stitching and then promptly put it away for another day.

I then decided I'd work some on the LK "Christmas Flip" and it's going much better. The frogs retreated back to the bathroom when I got the "100 Ways to Cook Frog Legs" cookbook out.

Another chart completed and only 2 more to go for a finish. Unlike my normal stitching habit of switching project almost daily I am going to continue working on this until it is finished. I was thinking of making it into a Bell Pull but Tracy said he thinks he would like to see it framed so that is what we will do. I'm thinking of using a double mat with red on the inside and green as the main color and then a simple frame but we will see when I get it to the framers.
Should be a good weekend for stitching with NASCAR back this weekend after a week off and if I'm lucky may even see some rain on Sunday. I'm not holding my breath for rain but it would make a nice change.
Until Next Time....Have a Great weekend with lots of stitching time.

Monopoly Monday

Monopoly Board Pages 1 & 2
Still working on Page 2 of the Monopoly Board. Should be able to finish this page next week (I hope) if I'm not doing some Easter stitching. Still have to do the Community Chest but putting it off since it has lots of 1/4 stitches and it's not the easiest part of the chart to read.
Going to try to get "Good Things.." done this week so I can announce what I want to do with the chart. I'm not real fond of the linen I'm using but will get it done so I can hang it in my stitching area.
Not much else going on here. Cooked a good St Paddy's day dinner of Corned Beef, Cabbage, Potatoes and Carrots. It was so yummmmy and I ate way too much.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

I was RAK'd and RAK'd and RAK's

I don't go to the mail box every day but I sure am glad I did today. I had not 1 not 2 but three packages. I was so thrilled to get something other than doctors bills I couldn't wait to get back to the apartment to get them all opened. They are all from members of my ILCS group. Here is what I got in the order I opened them.

From Carla Rizzie I received a wonderful Thank You note with this adorable Froggie Key Chain. I just love the note card with the froggies and even the envelope had froggies on it. She said that it came with 2 froggies. One says Best and the other says Buds. I guess we are now forever tied as Best Buds as now we each have one. Thank You Carla

Next was this wonderful Thank You card from Becky J. Inside the card was a cute Snowman chart that I hadn't seen before. It will be in my "to do" soon pile, I just love it. Also included was 2 WDW's in colors I didn't have. They came at the perfect time, I'm going to use them on my LK WIP "Great Things...". Thank You Becky

And last but by no means least was a package from Wanda J, all the way from Canada. A while back Wanda asked me if I had any use for some ribband that she knew she would never use. I had thought about getting some to do a different finish for ornaments but couldn't find it by the yard so the idea went on a back burner for a while. She sent the ribband and boy will I be busy now with the new ornament idea. You'll have to check later in the year when I get them done. Also in the package was the most adorable Froggie Pin. I have already put it on the bag Mary made for me and it will go shopping with me every time I go out. If you click on the picture you can see the pin better.
Thank You so much ladies!!!! You really got my week off to a wonderful Start.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

A Start, WIP's, A Finish

It was a good stitching weekend here....

A Start,,,,

"Good Things...." by Lizzie Kate
This just kept calling to me and I kept thinking of the Spring colors I could use so I had to start it. I'm going to use lots of color and think it will be a bright addition to my stitching area. I also plan on doing something fun with the chart when finished so stay tuned.
WIP's....

"Christmas Flip - Tree/Candy" by Lizzie Kate
This is now half finished. I think I'll stitch on it a little more during the week since I want it finished NOW so I can start on the "Halloween Flip".

"Home Is Where You Hang Your Needlework" by Homespun Elegance
The colors didn't come out very well in this picture, it is a little darker than what is shown. I really like this design and look forward to finishing it soon. It stitches fairly quick.
A Finish....

"Not Tonight..." by Sue Hillis Designs
I love this design and will probably stitch it again. I will be looking for a mat and frame later this month and since it will fit in a ready made frame I'll frame it myself. I want a dark blue mat and a white frame. Not sure where I'll hang it, maybe the bedroom.
Well that's my weekend worth of stitching. Tomorrow (today since it's late here) I'll be working on the Monopoly board and who knows what the rest of the week will bring.
Until Next Time.....Have a great week of Stitching and good night

A Finish....A New Start

I completed my March goal of 2 more of the 12 Days ornaments. I'm now half done with the set and I'm sure I'll have them all done in June. I really do like each one better than the last and look forward to doing the next two.

"One The Twelfth Day..." Day 6 by The Cat's Whiskers
Stitched on 32 count "Summer Khaki" Belfast Linen
with DMC 4210

Being the Serial Starter I am I get to start at least one new project for every finish. I just couldn't resist starting one of the newest charts in my stash. I just love this little stitching angel and thought about how I wanted to do it all day yesterday. It just kept calling my name so last night I opened my box of fabric and this piece of Silweaver jumped right out into my hands. I then opened my box of overdyed floss and right on the top was this Dinky Dyed silk in just the perfect shade of blue. This is my progress from last night and early this morning. I think it will be completed very soon since it's one that is easy to stitch but hard to put down. I'm seeing it in a white frame with a mat to match the threads but we will see what I can find when it's finished. Like most of Sue Hillis designs it will fit into a pre-made frame so I'll be able to do it myself.
It's Friday the 13th so beware of those black cats, and don't walk under any ladders. hehehe
Until next time....Have a Great weekend with lots of time for stitching

A FUN FUN DAY

Today was the day I got to meet with Mary and what a day it was. We decided to meet for lunch and I suggested my favorite buffet. I knew the food would be good but also it would be quiet enough so we could chat and they never give you the bums rush to eat and clear out so they can clean your table. You would have thought we had known each other since were we kids. We ate and chatted and ate some more and chatted a lot more and exchanged gifts we had made for each other. She made me the wonderful Froggie Bag you will see in the second picture and I gave her one of the Cupcake pincushions and a scissor fob. I think lunch took us at least a hour and a half and was so enjoyable. After lunch we headed for my LNS. It was a real treat for me to see Mary's face light up when she saw all the fun stuff. She doesn't have a LNS where she lives so I'm sure she really enjoyed seeing all the charts, threads and fabric up close and personal

We both did a little damage to the pocketbook and was able to enable each other. After this we went to the Super JoAnn's. Mary works in a regular JoAnn's and had never been to a Super Store. She knew they were having a clearance on some of the fabrics and we couldn't resist a clearance sale could we. She found several pieces of Aida and I found a couple pieces of Linen.

It was one of the best days I've had in a very long time. A girls day out with someone I hope I get to spend time with again. I only wish I could meet more of my online stitching buddies and that we could all get together in person for a wonderful day like today.

Mary and Me at the LNS

Froggie Bag from Mary
isn't it the cutest thing and it is lined with
the same green fabric as the pocket with a big
pocket inside. It will hold lots of stitching goodies
for when I go out.
My New Stash.....

No stitching today but for a day like today I would gladly give up a day of stitching
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Monopoly Monday SAL

I'm still working on Page 2 of the board. I finish two properties and almost finished the third before putting it away for the week. This is a easy stitch but LOTS of counting involved. I can say I really do enjoy working on it.

Got a call tonight from Mary A of my ILCS group and she has arrived safely here in Las Vegas. We are going to meet on Wednesday for lunch and some shopping at the LNS. I am really looking forward to meeting her and I'm sure we will have a really fun day. I'll be sure to take my camera so I can take lots of pictures.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Two Starts, Two Finishes

I started both these projects on Friday and finished them on Saturday. They both were quick stitches and I really did enjoy doing both of them.

First..... "On The Twelfth Day..." Day 5 by The Cat's Whiskers
Stitched on 32 count "Summer Khaki" Belfast Linen
with DMC 4210
I'm keeping to my schedule of 2 of these per month and should get the second one done this month with no problem. The next designs just get cuter and cuter with each day.
Second Finish....

"Cupcakes, Glorious Cupcakes" - One Sweet Rose
Design by The Cat's Whiskers
Stitched on 32 ct White Belfast Linen
with DMC 4090 and WDW
Yes that is a real Cupcake baking cup! The finish on this was much easier than I thought it would be. This first of many to come will be a gift for a friend I'm meeting this week for the first time. The chart has many different designs but I think any small design will work and I'm looking forward to experimenting with others. As you can tell The Cat's Whiskers is fast becoming one of my favorite designers. They have so many unique and cute designs.
Today has been a really strange day for me....I haven't felt like stitching which is very rare. I did spend most of the morning getting the Birthday Club Exchange for my ILCS group put together. This will be our second year and the group doubled in size making the job a little more complicated for me but at last it is done and we are up and running. I'm sure it will be another successful year. I managed a few stitches on "Celtic Spring" but not enough progress to share yet. I am going to leave her out and just maybe by seeing it out it will inspire me to get more done this week. Then I pulled out Monopoly since the backstitch with no color changes would be what I call "Brain Dead" stitching. I will continue to work on this tomorrow and hope to get most of page 2 done.
Hope everyone has a good week, I know I will since I get to meet a member of my ILCS group and am very excited about that.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

New Stash and Finishes

I am totally and completly addicted to JBW Designs and these are my latest purchase. If you click on the picture you can get a close up of them.

The first one, "Monogram Collection" has 3 different alphabets in it along with numbers. There are 3 different designs also. Don't think you have ever have too many alphabet choices. The second one, "The French Hen" goes with the Rooster one I already have and I'll be doing those to go in my kitchen. The next two are for seasons and I hope she will be adding more in this series. "A Very Merry Winter" has the cutest snowman with a little red bird. His body is made up of the words "A Very Merry Winter. I just love the egg in "A Very Merry Spring" with it's little bunnies. Of course I couldn't wait to start on at least one of them and here is the finish....

"A Very Merry Spring" by JBW Designs
stitch on 28 count "Cameo" Cashel by Silkweavers
with Carrie's Collection "Sweet Dreams"
This was a very quick one to stitch, it only took a little over a day to do. I'm not sure yet if I'll frame it or make it into a flat fold.

I also finished another section on the LK Christmas Flip it. "Tree" was a little quicker to do than the others and I am almost half done with the project now. I'll get back to it on Friday for the Santa Day SAL. When this one is finished I'll start on the Halloween Flip It's. I'm going to do those in the same manner, all on one piece of fabric and finish as a bell pull.

Back to working on "Home...." and hope to get at least the words above the house if not more done this week.

Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

March Already

Where has this year gone? I can't believe it's already March and time for a new Seasonal Shelf. This was a really fun one to do and we found some really cute stuff while shopping at Michaels (and it was all on sale too). I could find a pot for my gold so had to make one by painting a little vase black and adding the coins to it. Not exactly what I wanted but it works until I can find something better.

March Seasonal Shelf
WIP Update....

I got another of the Flip It's done. I really wanted to do the Santa beard with the fuzzy stuff but it just didn't work. I'm not sure if it was the thread, fabric or Me but it was a mess to say the least. I really think the fabric is too tight of a weave for the fuzz and it almost felt like it was being striped away so it was regular threads for Santa. I decided I really want to get this finished so will work on it more with only Mondays off to do Monopoly until it's finished.
Almost time for the NASCAR race here in Vegas and you know what I'll be doing for the rest of the afternoon. GO TONY!!! Go Kyle! We are only about 3 miles from the Speedway so I'll go outside to watch the Thunderbirds fly over and then park myself in my chair for the race.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching and have a great week
