DH Doing Better

Today was Tracy's follow-up appointment at the doctor. I just don't understand why this grown man can't go to the doctor alone, he wanted me to go with him so I did. Of course they checked everything again; weight, BP and even ran a EKG. His diet and meds must be working...WOO HOO. BP is out of the danger range, still high but coming down. Doctor wants it checked again in 5 days when he goes back for some lab work. He lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks (if I don't grow gills, start clucking or delivering eggs like a bunny from all the fish, chicken and rabbit food otherwise called salad I'll be shocked). His back is getting better slowly but at least some progress there too. Again I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and good wishes, they have sure helped.

I hope to have a stitching update in the next day or two.....Until then, Happy Stitching

Look What I Got

In my ILCS group we had a "Affordable Floss" Exchange. Had to be a special thread (no regular DMC or Anchor) and you could spend more than $10 US. I todays mail I received these 6 skeins of "Dragon Floss" from Kelly Smith. She had sent me some in January for my birthday and knew how much I enjoyed stitching with them. They are 100% cotton but have the feel of silk. What a bunch of pretty colors with really fun names like "Swinging Sixties", "Dragon's Breath", "New Era". Thank you so much Kelly, I'll think of you with every stitch I take with them.
Until next time....Happy Stitching

"Queen" Update

I finally finished Band 11 and stitched Band 12. I love the Strawberries and flowers in this band but my favorite part is the little ladybugs stitched 1 over 1. I really want to have this done by the end of the month and just might make it since there are only 2 bands left to do but the last one is like the top band and will take more than one Sunday to do.
I started another Biscornu but can't share that with you yet as it is for a exchange in my ILCS yahoo group. I will say that it is something different, really dramatic I think, and I'm happy with it so far. Along with the Biscornu I plan on working on "Cherry Blossom" Biscornu and get it along with the fob done this week. I'll then put time in on "hop!". Going to be a busy stitching week I think.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

"Feathers" Update

I spent some time working on "Feathers" on Wednesday. The sky goes all the way across the fabric now. It is too wide to fit in the scanner and get a full picture so this was taken with my camera and the colors aren't as good but you get the idea of what I have done.
Today (or is it yesterday now) I spent some time on finishing up some mini Biscornu's. I had started these several weeks ago and just put them away for a while. I'm going to get the 3 of them put together and ready to go out as RAK's and presents before starting on the "hop!" Fobs and finishing the tins. Should have something to show you by Saturday.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

My Basket Runnith Over

"Paperchain" GEO Biscornu
Late last night or was it early this morning I finally got this Biscornu put together. The colors didn't come out really true in the photo. They are really bright and cheerful (you can see the true colors in my webshots album). The Biscornu's are going to need their own basket real soon.
NEW STASH

"Stitchers Roll" by Shepherds Bush
I got this kit in the mail today. I just love Shepherds Bush kits. They have the highest quality supplies in them and always much more than enough to finish the project. I can't wait to start (and finish) this one.
SAL Stitching
I'm working on "Feathers" again today. Didn't get off to a good start, stitched 8 rows and had to frog 4 of them. After a short nap things got better and I hope to get some good progress on it. Tomorrow I'll start "hop!' fob/needlecase and it shouldn't take long to do. I did finish the second "hop!" tin top and will be putting it together this weekend. I should have a pic of "Feathers" progress in the next day or two.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

New Stash

"hop!" Tin top finished 4-25

There is nothing like new stash to lift your spirits and this sure did the trick. Several weeks ago Deborah M and I were talking about this Limited Edition set by Just Nan and how sorry we were that it sold out so quickly. The sets were limited to just 900 produced and while that may seem like a lot it really isn't when you consider how many stitchers there are out there. Try to be funny (as in haha) she asked the ladies at the House of Stitches about them. Lo and behold they had 2 of the kits left and hadn't even put them on their website yet. We are now the proud owners of "hop!" and as you can see I have finished stitching the first top to the tin. I will be stitching two of these, one for Deborah since she can't see to stitch on the linen and one for me. It took less than 2 days to finish the stitching and since the finishing instructions are very clear it should be fairly easy to put together which I hope to do this weekend. The fob will be next and should go quickly too. It's not only a fob but also a little needlebook. These are just the first in a series of 4. Next will be "sizzle" in June, then "boo! and last "jingle" I can't wait to see what the others will be. I will post another pic when I get these all together.
I also want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayer for my DH Tracy. He is doing much better. We were able to go out to Michael's and to lunch yesterday without it increasing his pain. Today it is even better, Have to go out again tomorrow to mail my grandsons birthday package, and maybe go out to breakfast. Speaking of my grandson (will be 7 on the first of May), he sent me a letter which I received today. His mother had no idea what was in it, he wouldn't let her read it. In the letter he asked me to come to his house soon. Isn't that sweet. I won't be going for another visit until Fall as I can't take the summer humidity there any more.
Time to get back to stitching so....
Until next time......Happy Stitching

Stressful Weekend

Boy am I glad it's finally a new week. I normally don't post about personal stuff but thought I needed to let everyone know why I haven't been keeping up with emails.

Last Friday my DH Tracy was complaining about his back and leg hurting. He spent most of the day in bed and that is just not him. By Saturday he could hardly walk and didn't even go out to get a newspaper. No Paper, now I knew there was a problem. He tried to get up to go to work but it was a struggle just to put his pants on. Now this man has not missed a day at work in over 8 years so the red flags went up. By Sunday when he could barely make it across the hall to the bathroom my stress level was beyond stressed out. Monday I said this is it, you are going to the doctor. Since we don't have a car and I knew he couldn't make it across the street to the bus I called a Taxi and off to the Urgent Care Clinic we went.

We waited and waited and finally he was called in to have his vitals taken. He came out and said his Blood Pressure was high but he didn't know what it was. After waiting what seemed like hours he was called in to see the doctor. Again I waited and waited and stressed and stressed. He finally came out about a hour and a half later. After 5 x-rays of his back they determined he has Sciatia and a bit of arthritis, but his bigger problem is his BP. When it was taken the first time it was 240/100. It is a wonder he didn't have a stroke!! They gave him something to bring it down but it wouldn't budge for about a hour and they let him go when it came down a little.

After getting his prescriptions filled and he started on pain meds, something for the Sciatia and BP he is doing much better today. He can finally walk without looking like he is 90 years old and in pain. He is off work by doctors orders until Saturday and has to go back to have his BP checked in May. He also has to go on a diet and that's not going to be fun at all. This man loves his candy and soda and they are now going to be a no no.

With all this going on I haven't been able to get much stitching done or even get emails read but things are looking up and should be back in the swing of things very soon.

Until next time....Happy Stitching
