Fun Day

Tracy and I had another Great day out. We left home as soon as he got home from work and headed to the strip for the NASCAR Car Haulers parade. The crowd was smaller this year and we got a great spot for viewing and taking pictures. I have lots more pictures in my Webshots albums (link in the sidebar). There are two haulers you won't see, I just don't like Jeff Gordon or Jimmy Johnson so if you are a fan of them you won't see a pic.
After the parade we just HAD to go the the M&M store and see what they had new. Tracy got me a die cast Kyle Bush car. Being he and his brother are hometown boys I have to root them on. I love the way Kyle's car is painted with all the M7M's on it. Then it was on to Michael's for some shopping. Got some really cute stuff for my shelf and things for the "Color the World" exchange. Since we spent every extra penny we had last month on the new computer I didn't get my Birthday dinner so Tracy said this would be a good time to celebrate my birthday with a nice lunch. We headed for Olive Garden and really had a great lunch. The food was wonderful (but I ate way to much) and the service was the best we've had in a very long time. Our tea glasses were never empty and the bread sticks just kept coming without even having to ask for more.
Today will be just for stitching. With all the people in town for the race I'm not going out again until after the races and the crowds are gone.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Monopoly SAL, WIP, New Start

This hasn't been my best week. I have been a bit under the weather but not really sick. I think maybe I was just tired out since all my body wanted to do was sleep. I took lots of naps and finally am feeling back to my old self.

Monopoly SAL.....

Monopoly Board 2-24
Since I missed working on this last week I decided to spend two days on it this week so I wouldn't fall behind on my goal. I still have two squares from page 1 to finish but wanted to get page 2 started. The outline for the first side is now complete and I'll start on the lettering next week.
LK WIP.....

LK Christmas Flip It 2-22
I just love this section. The gingerbread man and cookies are so cute. I'll start the next section tomorrow, it has a Santa and I'm not sure how his white beard is going to show up. I'm thinking of getting some of the fuzzy stuff to do it but will wait see how he looks.

New Start....
Home Is Where You Hang Your Needlework

Started 2-25

The colors sure didn't come out on the scan. I'm stitching it on "Redwood Forest" by Silkweavers with WDD Bark and Lancaster Red. Much lighter in person. When finished I want to mat it with a Dk Red Mat and a Dk brown frame. I received the chart as part of my Birthday present from Kathy K and have been itching to start it. I did all the left side in one day so it shouldn't take long to finish.

Fun Fabric......

While at WalFart yesterday I decided to look for some St Paddy's Day fabric to finish the things for the Seasonal Shelf. Tracy did it again, before I could even get to the aisle with the fabric he found this and had it pulled out for me. I think he must have been a personal shopper in a previous life. I'm not sure what I'm going to make from it but thinking of either a table runner or placemats.
Today is going to be a busy day. It's NASCAR weekend here in Vegas and today is the parade of the car haulers. They close off the strip for the parade and people will be lined up 4 deep to see the trucks. We will have to be out the door as soon as Tracy gets home from work so we can get a good spot to take pictures. Last year my pics didn't come out very well but at least now I know where not to stand to get good shots. Then we will have a late breakfast or early lunch before going shopping. The temp is forcasted to be in the low 70's so should be a great day to be out and about.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Three Finishes

I can hardly believe I have the stitching for my March Seasonal Shelf DONE!!! Granted none of them are really big projects but they are finished just the same. I still need to do some shopping for fabric and buttons or charms but that will wait until the end of the week when we go out.

"March Stamp" by Lizzie Kate

Stitched on 28 count Lt Mocha Cashel

with WDW, GAST, DMC

"March Biscornu" by Helga Mandl
Stitched on 28 count Beige Cashel
with DMC, Treasure Braid and Mill Hill Beads
Sorry about the quality of the picture but you get the idea. This was a fun, quick stitch.

"March - Shamrock" by Erica Michaels
Free chart can be found here www.rainbowgallery.com
Stitched on 28 count Cream Linen
with WDW
This isn't my favorite design but will do until I find something I like better.
Today I'm going to work on Lizzie Kate Christmas Flip It while watching the races. I'd really like to get another section finished before I move on to the Monopoly SAL tomorrow.
Hope everyone has had a great weekend with lots of time for stitching.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

St Paddy's Day Stitching

I was so involved with stitching and watching NASCAR this weekend I totally forgot a update.

"Don't Bug Me" by Barbara Ana Designs
stitched on 32 count Raw Opalescent Linen
with DMC and Carrie's Creations
This was a really fun quick one to stitch. I'm going to finish him as a "knob knocker" to hang in my stitching/computer area. Maybe the bug will scare the froggies away.

"Pot O' Gold" by Holly House Designs
stitched on 32 count Raw Opalescent Linen
with DMC, Dinky Dyes and Treasure Braid
Kelly reminded me this is a short month so I decided I better get started on stitching for my March shelf. The design is suppose to have a Leprechaun button but the company that made them no longer is around so will have to find something else to use or just leave it as is.
I'm now working on the March LK Stamp and should have it done sometime tomorrow.

LK March Stamp
I have a really cute Biscornu pattern next in line to do and then will find one more design for the shelf. Will be nice to have the stitching for the shelf done early and not have to rush to get it finished.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Mid Week Update

A Finish....

"On The Twelfth Day" Day 4
by The Cats Whiskers
I think this is my favorite so far. It worked up really quick even after a visit from the frogs. I have now met my goal of two for this month and am looking forward to the next two.
WIP's....

"Christmas Double Flip" by Lizzie Kate
There is something about these designs that I just can't put them down. I'm going to get the next part "Cookies" done tomorrow I'm sure.

"Gift of the Eagle Feather"
Finally got back to "Feathers" and while I didn't get a lot done every stitch counts towards a finish. I really would like to get this done this year but will make no promises as it seems to be going so slow. I'm not even half done with it and have been working on it off and on for a year now.
This should be a good weekend for stitching. There is rain in the forcast, it will probably go south of us again but keeping my fingers crossed we get some. It's also turned cold (at least cold by Las Vegas standards) so will stay in and just stitch away. I made a yummy stew for dinner tonight so it will be leftovers for a couple of days and that means I can stay out of the kitchen. Looking forward to Sunday and the start of the NASCAR season, VAROOOOOM, love to stitch and watch the races.
Until Next Time.....Have a GREAT weekend and Happy Stitching

Monopoly Monday 2-9

I managed to get all the lettering done on Page 1. I still have the Chest and Ring to do, which will be done next Monday and then on to Page 2. I think this is going to be a year long project.
Today I'm back to working on the LK Christmas Flip It's. The Opalescent fabric seems to be of a tighter weave and is a real PITA to stitch on but the sparkle makes it worth the extra time it takes to stitch. I will have a update on it in the next couple of days.
Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching

A Finish, A Start and other Stuff

Happy Monday.....Hope everyone is having a great day!

A FINISH.....

Pink Needlroll by Dragonfly Stitches
Stitched on 28 count Cherub Lugana with Crescent Colours
The thread finally arrived so I could finish the needleroll. I'm really happy with the way it came out and now to find some soft green ribbon so I can put it together. I made some modification to the chart. It was to be stitched in shades of blue but I do love picking my own colors. The heart charm is one I got in a package to do beaded scissor fobs but think it works well with the design.

A Start....

Christmas Double Flip It - HOLLY by Lizzie Kate
Stitched on 32 count Opalescent Lugana with DMC
I finally got the fabric for the Double Flip it with the gift certificate I got for my birthday. Again I made a change in the color used for the border. The outside border is charted to be done in white but since I'm using white fabric I knew it would show up and thought the red would work well. I saw this being stitched while at the LNS a few months ago and really liked the way the colors just POP on the white fabric so decided that was what I wanted too. I got all this done on Saturday (between naps) so shouldn't take long to get it finished. It will be finished as a bell pull.
Early Valentine Gift....

When I got up Sunday morning I found this adorable froggie sitting in my chair with the box of one of my favorite candies. Tracy said he wanted to get my gift early so I could enjoy him longer. Isn't he just the cutest and now is sitting next to the froggie I got last year.
Seasonal Shelf....

The shelf isn't complete yet. I still have one more stitched piece to finish but wanted to share what it looks like so far. Most of the items on the shelf are from exchanges and RAK's I've received.
We had some really nice rain over the weekend and more is expected today and tomorrow. Sure makes for good stitching.
Until Next Time with a Monopoly Update....Happy Stitching

Thank You and Chinese New Years

First I want to thank everyone for their well wishes on Tracy's doctor appointment. This was his first visit to the foot doctor. It was just a check up because of his diabetes.

After the doctors appointment we headed down to the strip to see the Chinese New Years decoration at the Belliago Conservatory. Part of the display is a repeat of years previous and part was new. As always it was beautiful and we really enjoyed it. I wish everyone could see all the orchids used for this years display. They were breath taking. Following is just a little teaser of what we saw, for more pictures you can go to my Webshots (link in sidebar) and the rest of the pictures are in the first album. If you have missed other visits to the Conservatory there is another album on Webshots with different seasons.

First Finish for February

I set a goal to stitch 2 of the ornaments from "On The Twelfth Day" each month and I'm half way there for February. I finished Day 3 today.

"On The Twelfth Day" by The Cats Whiskers
Day 3
Stitched on 32 count "Summer Khaki" Belfast Linen
with DMC 4210
I also worked on the JBW Country French design "LOVE" and it should be finished before the weekend. As soon as it is finished it will go on the seasonal shelf and I can then share of picture of the shelf with you. The shelf is all done except for that one last piece of stitching. I'd also like to do a Valentine's Biscornu but just not sure if I want to do it in pink or red.
Tracy has doctors appointments on Thurs and Friday so not sure how much stitching I'll get done but I can do some crocheting while I wait for him. We may even finally make it to the strip to take pictures of the Chinese New Years decorations.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Super Bowl Stitching and Monopoly Monday

Superbowl Stitching....
Since I almost always cheer for the underdog in the big game this year I was cheering for the Arizona Cardinals. What better to stitch while watching the game but some birds in red. I started Day 3 of "On The Twelfth Day" by the Cats Whiskers. I put in the first stitch with the kick off and continued stitching on it the rest of the game and thru the evening. While the Cards didn't win the last 5 minutes of the game were very exciting and I think it was a good game.

Monopoly Monday....

From now until finished I will be working on the Monopoly Board on Mondays with Mary in TX. I stayed up way too late last night stitching on the "Pass GO" square and getting all the basic stitches in the other squares on Page 1 done. I should be close to finishing this page next Monday. This is a BIG project but I am enjoying it.

"Monopoly Board" as of 2-2-09
My order I place with 123 Stitch with my Gift Certificate from Deborah M should be here tomorrow and I will be hounding the mailman until I have it in my hot little hands. LOL I have the last two of the LK Christmas Double Flip It's and the fabric for them coming and I so want to start it. I'm going to do it as a Bell Pull so it will be another BAP. Oh Kelly what have you done to me....getting me to do all these BAP's
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Two Starts and A Finish

It's been a good stitching weekend for me. Saturday I received the 4 JWB charts I ordered with my Gift Certificate from Linda. 3 of the charts are for Christmas but the 4th is one for my seasonal shelf. I started this Very late last night and finished it today before the kick off of the Super Bowl. When I do my shelf I try to not only follow the theme of the LK Stamp but use the colors in it too. The Feb shelf will be in pinks and purples with a touch of red. Of course with my love of frogs there will be some green too.

"French Country ~ AMOUR" by JBW Designs

With the kick off of the Superbowl I started Day 3 of my 12 Days by The Cats Whiskers. Not a lot done and so will post a picture of that in the next couple of days.
Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching and have a great stitching weekend
