My Basket Runnith Over

"Paperchain" GEO Biscornu
Late last night or was it early this morning I finally got this Biscornu put together. The colors didn't come out really true in the photo. They are really bright and cheerful (you can see the true colors in my webshots album). The Biscornu's are going to need their own basket real soon.
NEW STASH

"Stitchers Roll" by Shepherds Bush
I got this kit in the mail today. I just love Shepherds Bush kits. They have the highest quality supplies in them and always much more than enough to finish the project. I can't wait to start (and finish) this one.
SAL Stitching
I'm working on "Feathers" again today. Didn't get off to a good start, stitched 8 rows and had to frog 4 of them. After a short nap things got better and I hope to get some good progress on it. Tomorrow I'll start "hop!' fob/needlecase and it shouldn't take long to do. I did finish the second "hop!" tin top and will be putting it together this weekend. I should have a pic of "Feathers" progress in the next day or two.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

New Stash

"hop!" Tin top finished 4-25

There is nothing like new stash to lift your spirits and this sure did the trick. Several weeks ago Deborah M and I were talking about this Limited Edition set by Just Nan and how sorry we were that it sold out so quickly. The sets were limited to just 900 produced and while that may seem like a lot it really isn't when you consider how many stitchers there are out there. Try to be funny (as in haha) she asked the ladies at the House of Stitches about them. Lo and behold they had 2 of the kits left and hadn't even put them on their website yet. We are now the proud owners of "hop!" and as you can see I have finished stitching the first top to the tin. I will be stitching two of these, one for Deborah since she can't see to stitch on the linen and one for me. It took less than 2 days to finish the stitching and since the finishing instructions are very clear it should be fairly easy to put together which I hope to do this weekend. The fob will be next and should go quickly too. It's not only a fob but also a little needlebook. These are just the first in a series of 4. Next will be "sizzle" in June, then "boo! and last "jingle" I can't wait to see what the others will be. I will post another pic when I get these all together.
I also want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayer for my DH Tracy. He is doing much better. We were able to go out to Michael's and to lunch yesterday without it increasing his pain. Today it is even better, Have to go out again tomorrow to mail my grandsons birthday package, and maybe go out to breakfast. Speaking of my grandson (will be 7 on the first of May), he sent me a letter which I received today. His mother had no idea what was in it, he wouldn't let her read it. In the letter he asked me to come to his house soon. Isn't that sweet. I won't be going for another visit until Fall as I can't take the summer humidity there any more.
Time to get back to stitching so....
Until next time......Happy Stitching

Stressful Weekend

Boy am I glad it's finally a new week. I normally don't post about personal stuff but thought I needed to let everyone know why I haven't been keeping up with emails.

Last Friday my DH Tracy was complaining about his back and leg hurting. He spent most of the day in bed and that is just not him. By Saturday he could hardly walk and didn't even go out to get a newspaper. No Paper, now I knew there was a problem. He tried to get up to go to work but it was a struggle just to put his pants on. Now this man has not missed a day at work in over 8 years so the red flags went up. By Sunday when he could barely make it across the hall to the bathroom my stress level was beyond stressed out. Monday I said this is it, you are going to the doctor. Since we don't have a car and I knew he couldn't make it across the street to the bus I called a Taxi and off to the Urgent Care Clinic we went.

We waited and waited and finally he was called in to have his vitals taken. He came out and said his Blood Pressure was high but he didn't know what it was. After waiting what seemed like hours he was called in to see the doctor. Again I waited and waited and stressed and stressed. He finally came out about a hour and a half later. After 5 x-rays of his back they determined he has Sciatia and a bit of arthritis, but his bigger problem is his BP. When it was taken the first time it was 240/100. It is a wonder he didn't have a stroke!! They gave him something to bring it down but it wouldn't budge for about a hour and they let him go when it came down a little.

After getting his prescriptions filled and he started on pain meds, something for the Sciatia and BP he is doing much better today. He can finally walk without looking like he is 90 years old and in pain. He is off work by doctors orders until Saturday and has to go back to have his BP checked in May. He also has to go on a diet and that's not going to be fun at all. This man loves his candy and soda and they are now going to be a no no.

With all this going on I haven't been able to get much stitching done or even get emails read but things are looking up and should be back in the swing of things very soon.

Until next time....Happy Stitching

No SAL Stitching

I did NO stitching on my SAL's this week. After finishing the Sweet Dreams Biscornu (in previous post) I decided I'd better work on some other stuff to cheer myself up. What better for a uplift than something in bright colors. This GEO Paperchain reminded me of making paperchains for my DD when she was little and the threads by Carries's Creations in the bright Rainbow colors seemed so well suited for the design. I still need to stitch the bottom for this and then make it into another Biscornu.
GEO Paperchain
I also finished the stitching on "Cherry Blossom" Fob by The Sweetheart Tree. This is the matching fob for the "Cherry Blossom" Biscornu that I have the top finished. I'm now stitching the bottom for the Biscornu (same as the top) and hope to be able to put them both together this week. Again these are for the same dear friend the I did the Rhodes Butterfly set for.

"Cherry Blossom" Fob Front

"Cherry Blossom" Fob Back

Next on the to do list is the Just Nan Biscornu "When Barnabee Met Bella" and as soon as it get here the new limited edition Tin and Fob.
The weather has been great except for the winds. Spring and Fall bring some nasty wind and I really feel sorry for those with allergies since the wind really stirs up the dust and pollens. It also increases the fire danger since the humidity is so low.
Time to get some household chores done so I can get back to stitching.
Until next time....Happy Stitching

A New Week

This week is starting off great. The sun is shinning, the birds are singing and it's warm out (will be 90 degrees today).

I started this Biscornu and then ran out of threads. The threads arrived and I finished the stitching but put it aside to do some other projects. I woke up this morning thinking I really needed a finishing fix and pulled this out. WOO HOO a couple of hours later and I have a new Biscornu for the basket.

The SAL rotation may take a back seat this week. I want to finish the "Cherry Blossoms" Biscornu and fob this week and maybe even start on a Just Nan Biscornu. Guess you can call this "Biscornu Week in Vegas".
Until Next time....Happy Stitching

Santa Day 4-11

"Christmas Soldiers" Stocking by Just Nan

For Santa Day this week I spent all my time working on this stocking for my DH Tracy. I'm really loving the way it is working up. You can't see the textures and sparkle in it. The trees are done with Caron Impressions which is a wool silk blend that is a dream to stitch with. I love how the Krienik metallic adds the sparkle to the drums and soldiers. I still need to add the beads to the trees but that will be my reward at the end when all the stitching is done.

I'm having my own movie marathon today. Watching John Wayne westerns from our own DVD collection. Guess I'm showing my age since I much perfer older movies to the ones made today. This evening is the NASCAR race so that will be good stitching time.

Until next time.....Happy Stitching

Progress on "Freathers"

I'm really excited about the progress on "Feathers". It was going so well that I put in a little extra time on it. I am about 3/4 across the top done now and will work on filling in the rest of the sky on the right side. Now on to working on the "Christmas Soldiers" stocking. Guess this is work on projects for DH week.

Until next time.....Happy Stitching

"Feathers" Update

Had a good stitching day on "Feathers" last week. Since I started the Biscornu on Wednesday I worked on this on Thursday. I have decided to get the top half of the sky done before doing the Eagle. I really wanted to have this done by Tracy's birthday in Aug but looks like it probably will end up as a anniversay (30 years in Nov) present instead.

I'm having sleeping problems again. Just can't seem to get that internal clock adjusted. So I've been stitching at night (early morning) and napping during the day. Guess it really doesn't matter when I sleep since I'm retired and really have no place to be during the day.

Back to stitching the fob now so....Until next time, Happy Stitching

New Starts

"Cherry Blossom" Biscornu
This was my first new start last week. Another of the new Sweetheart Tree Biscornu's. The top is now finished except for the beads and I'll be doing the bottom (which is the same) this week. Today I have started the matching scissor Fob and they are for the same friend I did the Rhodes Butterfly Biscornu for.

This is the second new start from last week. I'm doing this stocking for my wonderful Husband. It's stitched on 28ct creme Cashel linen with DMC, Caron Impressions and Krienik metallic. I'll be doing this one on Fridays in a rotation with Charmed 12 Days.
Guess I can keep my title of "Queen of the Serial Starters"

The Enabler was Enabled

A member and friend from ILCS just had to show me this chart. She knows how much I love samplers and this is right down my alley. I now have the chart, fabric and thanks to my dear, sweet, wonderful husband the accessory pack for it. Not sure when I will start it but I would think sooner rather than later.
