On A Finishing Roll

This weekend I really wanted to get my stash organized and some projects into their finished form. Didn't get much organizing done but did well on the finishing......

Quaker Smalls Ornament for ILCS Exchange.
I finally found the fabric for the backing. I found a deep red that has a little shine to it. It is a great match to the red on the front. I finished it off with some sparkly gold ribbon.

Coq Au Pins Scissor Pocket
This was a totally different finish for me. The directions had me a little confused at first but finally figured it out. I'm sure the next one will be much easier. The back of the pocket says "My Scissors" and has more of the little chickens on it. I purchased the Rooster Scissors just to go with the pocket.

Coq Au Pins Needle Nanny
This was a really fun little finish. I purchased the kit for finishing and I know I will be doing more of these. What's a Needle Nanny? It is a place to park your needle without having to put it in your fabric. There is a little magnet inside under the stitching that will hold your needle and another magnet on the back so you can attach it to your project. I was amazed at how strong the magnets are.

This is really Tracy's finish, I can't take any credit for it other than hanging it. It is straight on the wall, I just wasn't holding the camera straight when I took the picture. For several months I have wanted a shelf with the pegs to display my stitching. We have looked and looked and didn't find what I wanted. There were shelves with 4 pegs, shelves with no pegs but not what I wanted. On one of our trips to Michael's during vacation we found this one in unfinished pine. Tracy stained it for me and I just love it. Now I have a great place for the LK Stamps, flat folds and other small stitched pieces. I plan on changing the stitched pieces with the seasons or holidays.

Lizzie Kate Monthly Stamps
I got the stitched Stamps made into little pillows. I'm going to do all of this way to display on my new shelf. Each piece is backed with fabric to go with the stitching.
Now to reward myself I'm going to stitch a little on "Pumpkin Patch" and tomorrow may bring some more finishes. I need to make some "Stitch Pickers", "Stitch Counters", "Beaded Scissor Fobs" as gifts.
Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching

Everything looks great! I could use one of those shelves myself, maybe two of them. I will have to check out my Micheals and see if they have it. I love the scissors pocket with the rooster scissors. I cant wait to see more of your finishes.

I've gotten all my items for Coq au Pins completed except that scissor pocket, and I can't make heads or tails of the instructions. I was going to have a much better sewing person help me, but if you had any tips that might make the instructions a little more clear, I would GREATLY appreciate it! I've gotten the stitching completed and the liner cut, but the step where you attach the liner to the stitching fabric is catching me...the liner piece looks like it's too small for the stitching fabric.

Your scissor pocket and Needle Nanny look great! I thought the Needle Nanny was a cool little thing to make. The chicken itself was a lot of fun...I just love mine!
