S.E.X. and Celtic Spring

After all the hours I've spent waiting in the waiting rooms for DH Tracy's doctor's appointments he decided it was time to pay his debt. Friday came and the weather was great. Much cooler than it had been in a couple of weeks. We were going to start our day with breakfast out but I over slept (haven't slept past 7am in months until Friday). We started out day with a trip to the LNS. Started off at the fiber wall, OH it was so nice to fondle and see all that I have been looking at on the net. While I was looking the lady working in the shop took my list and gathered all the beads and other little not so fun things for me. We then moved to the fabric room. I was looking for a small cut of Dark blue and didn't find any but got a piece of really pretty yellow. Then we started looking at charts. Tracy believe it or not is my biggest enabler here, he finds all kinds of charts. I only got 3 Lizzy Kate charts but have several others in mind for my next trip. I did get the latest issue of Just Cross Stitch with the ornament preview and I was very excited to find the 2006 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issue.

We then went to lunch before moving on the Michael's. I was missing some of the colors of floss for Celtic Spring and instead of looking through all my many WIP's I decided to just get some more. I found some really cute little buttons for Biscornu's, some stickers (froggies of course), a small wooden box to put stitching on the lid and other misc stuff.

Then it was time to head on to dinner on the way home. We went to a buffett at a Casino close to home and ate, ate and ate. After dinner we put a couple of dollars in the slots, didn't win but didn't lose much either. All in all it was a very nice day out with my DH who is also my best friend.

Celtic Spring
I spent most of Saturday and Sunday working on this. I have decided to do all the beading as I go. I think this was a good decision since there are a zillon beads in it and don't think I'd ever get it finished if I left the beading til the end. I'm stitching it on Willow Green 28 count cashel linen and enjoying every minute of it. I really had a hard time putting her up for the week and can't wait to work on it again this weekend.

Until next time.....Happy Stitching

New WIP

I started on this sometime last week. I don't have enough of the fabric I'm using to do the Chicken Pin Cushion so will just be doing the scissor pocket, fob and needle minder this time. I am using a piece of Silkweavers called Golden Harvest and stitching with Dinky Dyes Silk called Desert Sands. It is a really fun piece and will be doing it again in another color. I also have a pair of scissors on order to go with it. They are like Stork scissors but the handles are a Rooster.
Front.....................................Back
Still need to do the 1 over 1 stitching on the back of the pocket.

Birthday Gift

This is the Altoid Tin I stitched and put together for Danni of ILCS. I charted the back of her head for the inside of the tin.

A Finish, A WIP and A Start

A Finish....... I was in a stitching slump due to a problem with my eye. What better cure than a quick to finish project. I love stitching the monochromic designs with over dyed threads and love the way this one turned out. It's from the "Simply Red Ornament" by Diane Arthurs of Imaginating, Inc. This is the first of the 5 designs and I think I'll do the others in different colors.

A WIP.....
The trees are planted and the fences built. Making slow progress on this one. I may get more done on it this week (going to be a busy week but more about that later)

A NEW START....

Today was the start of the L&L SAL in my ILCS group. I have had Celtic Spring in my stash for a while and just hadn't gotten around to starting it. I'm stitching her on 28 count Willow Green Cashel with DMC. So far so good. I managed to get a lot done today.
I still have to get some stitching done for a Birthday gift so I better get on it now. Can't be late with a birthday gift.
Next week will be a busy one for us. DH Tracy is having a colonoscopy (spelling) on Thursday morning. We have to be at the hospital at 6:30am and I have no idea how long we will be there. I'll be taking some stitching with me and hopefully will get some done. Friday is going to be a "ME" day. Tracy said after all the doctors appointments I've gone with him and the ones coming up I deserve some fun. We will start with going to breakfast and then some S.E.X. (hehehe the shopping kind). I need some floss so we'll go to JoAnn's, then to the LNS for Q-Snaps and whatever else jumps in my hand, Michaels will be next for a look see what they have I just must have and probably dinner after that. I'm sure I'll be exhausted after that and Tracy will have a serious hole in his pocket.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

Another Start

"Bianca's Scissor Pocket"
This is a limited edition by The Cat's Whiskers. It is done in two parts and stitched together. It is done on 32 count Belfast Linen in Mint Green with Dinky Dyes Silk Thread. The colors are so soft and much prettier than on the picture that is with the chart. Again I am doing two of these, one for Deborah and one for myself. The picture is of Deborah's and mine is in the works. Mine would be close to a finish BUT I was stitching on it while waiting for DH Tracy at the doctors and had to frog 99% of what I had done grrrrrrrrrr. Back on target with it today and the frogs are back to the party in the bathroom and leaving me alone. I hope to have both of them done the first of the week so I can start something else new.
Hope to have a update on "Queen" tomorrow so until then......Happy Stitching

Construction Finished

"Little Pink Houses" Needle Roll
Construction on the "Houses" is finished and now it's time to call in the landscapers to plant the trees and built the fences. This is so much fun to do and a great little project to work on when I'm bored with the bigger projects.
I've gotten back to working on "Queen". A day late for the SAL but at least it's getting some time today and maybe tomorrow. I'm so close to a finish on it I think I'm dragging my heels since I know I will miss it.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

A Peachy Finish

I finished two of these Biscornu's yesterday. One is for me and the other is for Deborah Markham. It is a design by Carol Tinson of Heirloom Embroideries stitched on 28 count Jobelan in Antique Ivory. I used Dinky Dyes Silk and DMC with some Mill Hill beads. It is a little larger than most of the other Biscornu's I've done but I think it's really pretty.

Update on "Feathers"

"Gift of the Eagle Feather"
I finally put down all the other WIP's and put some time in on "Feathers". I was surprised at how much I got done. I have made a promise to myself that I will once again work on this at least one day a week so I can get it finished for my DH Tracy.
Some time ago I stitched the GEO Tudor as the top of a Biscornu. I wanted to do something really different with it so decided I would change the color of fabric for the bottom. Thinking it would look really dramatic with a black fabric stitched with a silvery grey I ordered some black fabric and grey perle cotton. While the 32 black fabric will be a pain to stitch on I did start it. This will be really slow going but I did start it and should have something to share with you soon.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

A Finish, Some Progress, New Start

I've had some really good stitching time here. This is what I've done the past few days.

A FINISH.....
This is the Biscornu I stitched for Debbie Jo in the ILCS Biscornu Exchange. It is the "Red Monochrome" design from my new stash. I did it on Creme 32 count Irish Linen with Dinky Dyes Blue Bonnet. I love the way it stitched up and will be doing this design again....hmmmmm what color combination should I do next.

WIP Progress.....

Two houses are now built on "Little Pink Houses" Needle Roll. This is really a fun design to do and I love the way it is coming out. Like most of the M Design Needle Rolls it's going to be a fatty.

NEW START......
The silk threads for "Peachy Biscornu" were yelling at me so loudly I just had to start on this. I'm stitching it on 28 count Antique Ivory Jobelan with Dinky Dyes Silks, DMC floss and DMC Perle Cotton. This is the center of the top and stitched up fairly quickly. This is another that I will be doing two of, one for the same dear friend I did the Sweetheart Tree Biscornu's for and one for me. I'm stitching both at the same time and will have the center of the second one done tonight.

Well now you have seen what I'm up to, guess I can keep my title of "Queen of the Serial Starters"
Until next time..........Happy Stitching

Biscornu Exchange

I received this lovely Biscornu and other goodies in a Biscornu Exchange in my ILCS group from Debbie Jo. Thank you Debbie Jo for such a wonderful package. I have finished the Biscornu for Debbie Jo but will wait until she gets it to share what I did.
