BAP SAL Update

Gift of the Eagle Feather 1-30
I am really loving this project. It is really out of my comfort zone, colors I normally don't use and a picture completly stitched. In the past few years I have done mainly Samplers and small projects but I think a challenge is good. I think I will have to dedicate two days for this one if I'm going to get it done in time for DH Tracy's birthday.
Today I am finally getting my stitching/computer area cleaned and organized. I was afraid Tracy was going to come home one day soon and find me buried under a pile of charts, fabric and floss. So much to do and so little time. I may get a little stitching done tonight.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

Happy Dancing and other Stuff

A Finish
Porcelain Nosegay by Just Nan

I finished putting in the last bead on this last night. I just love the way it came out. It's stitched on Lavender 28ct Linen with DMC. I'm not sure just how I want it finished. At first I thought a nice frame with a mat with a circular opening but the more I look at it I think it would make a nice top for a box or jar. Will have to look see what I can find for it. Now on to my next project.

New Project

Gift Of The Eagle Feather by Craig Tennant
This is the kit I got at Michaels on Saturday. It is a Gold Collection by Dimensions. After all my wonderful DH Tracy did for me for my birthday I just had to find something to do for him. There were 3 charts I liked and let him pick the one he wanted (funny but we picked the same one without me telling him which was my favorite). This is a real change for me. I haven't done a picture that is completly covered in years but it will be nice for a change. The fabric is 18ct beige Aida and there are a lot of 1/2 stitches in blended colors for the sky. I would really like to have this done for his birthday the end of August (but which year I wonder). I will be working on it each week on Wednesday's for the ILCS BAP's SAL and hope to get a little more time each week on it. I started it very late last night (or very early this morning) and have about 900 stitches in it so far. I'll try to post a update on it tomorrow night.

RAK

Horatio Frog and goodies

I received this adorable Froggie from Val as a Valentines RAK . He had been attacking her stitching so she sent him packing home to Las Vegas. Thank you again Val.
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

No SAL's This Week

Porcelain Nosegay 1-27

I didn't get anything done on my SAL's this week, I spent all my stitching time on "Porcelain Nosegay" and am getting close to finishing it.

Saturday Tracy and I had a few errands to run and made it to Michaels. It seems their stitching supplies is getting to be less and less. Thank goodness for ONS or I'd really be pulling my hair out looking for supplies. I did get one kit (will post more about that later) and some other small items for making Tuck Pillows and for exchanges.

Back to stitching and will post more later.

Birthday S.E.X.

Tin with Chart and Ribbon, Need to get fabric and floss
Charts for Scissor Fobs by The Sweetheart Tree
The Queen's Strawberry Fob, Rhodes Butterfly Fob
I got these because of the Speciality Stitches on them

Pansy Sampler by Victoria Sampler

Birdhouse Roll by Shepherds Bush
This is a complete Kit and will be really fun to do for Spring

It was really cold (or cold for here in the desert) when DH and I set out on our adventure for my Birthday. He always takes me to the LNS for S.E.X. and this year was no different. I warmed up really quickly when we went through the door and I was in a world of Charts, Kits, Fibers and Fabrics, heaven on Earth. The pictures are the charts and kits that just jumped right into my hands. All but the Tin are by my favorite designers. Then I went on to the fabric wall and got a piece of Cashel to do stocking for my DH and myself and some small cuts for ornies, scissor fobs and tin toppers. I didn't get many fibers, just the ones I needed for some projects I plan on doing real soon. Surprise surprise I didn't spend all my stash money so will be going to Michaels tomorrow with a 40% off coupon for a little more shopping.

After a little lunch at McDonalds we headed to the Strip to play tourist. The Belliago Hotel/Casino has a beautiful conservatory that they decorate with the different seasons/holidays and DH takes me every time they change it to take pictures and I'll share those with you in another post. From there we went to check out a new Hotel/Casino that just opened. After all this walking we were starting to get hungry so headed to Downtown (Fremont St) to have dinner at one of our favorite places. Dinner was very good.....had Prime Rib with all the trimmings and was stuffed so a little more walking was in order hehehe. We played the slots a little then headed to Starbucks for a after dinner coffee before heading home.

It was a very long but fun day.

My Birthday and Some Stitching

A good start on this

To say I had a good birthday would be the understatement of the year! It started when I stumbled from my bed and my wonderful DH Tracy met me with a cup of coffee and told me to sit down. He disappeared into the bedroom and then came out with a bag of Ghirardelli Squares, Dark Chocolate with Raspberry filling, and a card. Inside the card was CASH, 5 $20 bills!!! I was so happy and as I was going to give him a BIG thank you hug and kiss he had disappeared again. Out he comes with another gift, a cook book I have wanted for a long time and another card. He did it again, another card with CASH! I couldn't believe my eyes, another 5 $20 bills. Boy am I going to have fun shopping now. Later in the day he came out again, yes another present, he had forgotten to give me the last present, a DVD of my favorite movie "Gone with the Wind". I spent the whole day just reading emails, chatting with Kelly and stitching. It was one of the best Birthdays ever. Thursday we are going out shopping (my Birthday trip to the LNS), playing tourist on the strip, and out to dinner. The weather forcast is for rain but I'll believe that when I see it LOL.

I'll update again on my S.E.X. at the LNS and let you know how our "Date" goes.

Happy Birthday to Me

Tomorrow is the 31st anniversay of my 29th birthday and in todays mail I received a wonderful Birthday RAK from Kelly. I remember her stitching the adorable blackwork castle with the dragon and telling her how much I loved it. Little did I know she would send it to me. I plan on getting a really nice little frame for it and will give it a place of honor on my computer desk. Knowing how much I adore Just Nan designs she sent me Porcelain Nosegay. I wish you could see the beautiful charm that goes in the middle of it. I'm going to find the perfect fabric for it when I go to the LNS on Thursday. Last but not least she sent me some Dragon Floss. I have never used it before and will be looking for the perfect project for it. What a great RAK and Thank You Kelly.

Weekend SAL's

September Celtic Knot by Ink Circles
This is the Biscornu I made from the Celtic Knot for the Saturday Small's SAL. It's done on lavender hand dyed fabric with DMC 155 and 4220. The finished picture doesn't really show the colors but I'm really happy with the way it came out. I have plans for 3 more Biscornu's and think they will look really pretty in my basket of needle rolls.

"Queen of the Needle" by Just Nan

This is my progress as of yesterday. I now have 3 bands done and can't wait to start the next band. I just love how the colors pop on the fabric and next weeks band is in my favorite purples.
Not sure what I'm going to work on this week. I do need to get some organzing done and then there will be one day of shopping and eating for my birthday.
Until next time have a great stitching week........

Santa Day SAL

From The Cross Stitcher Dec 07 Issue

Progress as of 1-18
Friday is Santa Day for my ILCS Yahoo group. I spent the day working on "NOEL" and got a lot done. It seems the frogs really like this project and it weeks past have attacked the red parts so I decided to keep them away I would just work on the green letters and it worked, no frogs yesterday. I hope to finish the last letter, "L" next Friday and get on with the red.
This was a really good stitching week for me. I finished a design for a Valentines Day card and was really happy with the outcome. Can't share it yet as it's for a exchange and I don't want my partner to see it yet. I also got a lot done on the Celtic Knot for the Biscornu and hope to finish it today. Tomorrow will be "Queen of the Needle" for the Just Nan SAL and I can't wait to work on it again.
It's been really unusally cold here in the desert and even have snow forcasted for next week but I'll believe that when I see it. It probably will happen this time since I have plans to go to the LNS for my annual Birthday Stash shopping trip and then out to dinner. Tracy, my DH, always takes me for a special S.E.X. day for my birthday and we not only hit the LNS but go to JoAnn's and Michaels too. It will be a busy day but so much fun. Believe it or not he is my biggest enabler and always finds a couple extra things he knows I will like.
I hope eveyone has a great weekend and until next time.....Happy Stitching

Queen of the Needle - Sunday SAL

I finished the first two bands on "Queen of the Needle" tonight. I know it's my Sunday project but I just couldn't stop stitching on it. The picture does not do the colors justice, they just seem to pop off the fabric. This is one project that I will have professionaly framed for sure.

I'll spend the next couple of days working on the Celtic Knot Biscornu and will be starting a card for the Valentines Day exchange on my ILCS group.

Biscornu Update

September Celtic Knot for Biscornu1-12

This is the progress so far on "September Celtic Knot" by Ink Circles. It is a free design that I will be making a Biscornu with.
