Scream House - Final Wall Finished

It's been a busy week here. I did finally managed to finish the stitching on the last wall of "Scream House". WOO HOO Netty Nighshade is the last wall and now it will be on to all the backstitching and then put it together. I really wanted to get it done for Halloween but it sure will be done by Thanksgiving or maybe Christmas. I have a few other things that I need to get done so will fit the "House" finish in between them.
I'll have more on my week in a entry tomorrow or Saturday, as soon as I get to the back of the CPU and can plug in the new thing I got so I will have more USB conections and can download the pictures from the camera.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Another Wall Done

It's been a quiet weekend here. DH took me out to dinner last night and I had a really nice long nap today. Now the rest of the evening (after I cook a yummy dinner) will be spent stitching.

Wall #3 of Scream House is finished and only 1 left to do. Not sure if it will be done for Halloween since each wall and roof piece has to be backstitched with perle cotton and I think that's going to get boring very quickly and I'll have to work on something else for a break.
"Bootiful" - Wall 3
My order from House of Stitches came yesterday so now I have the WDW threads to stitch both the November and December LK Monthly Stamps. Also got the fabric for the next Just Nan SAL and can't wait to start it next Sunday.
Back to cooking dinner now so I can feed DH and then stitch the night away while watching Football.
Until Next Time....Have a good week filled with lots of Happy Stitching

Scream House & Santa Day

Today got off to a rough start. Woke up late, stubbed my toe on DH's heavy work boots, walked into the wall on my way to the bathroom. Then still half asleep went into the kitchen to make coffee and the coffee maker quit working. Didn't even get a cup out of it. At this point I'm thinking maybe I should just go back to bed and pull the covers over my head. DH saved the day and went to the convenience store and got me a cup of coffee and the day improved from there.

SCREAM HOUSE.....

The second interior wall is done. There will be a piece of orange plaid fabric in the shape of a hat between the bat at the top and the hat's brim at the bottom. This is for needles and I think a couple of gold plated ones will look really nice in it.
Interior Wall 2, Witches Hat

SANTA DAY....
After finishing the witches hat and starting on Wall 3 my eyes (and weak brain) really needed a break so I thought I would do something for Christmas. My order from 123 Stitch arrived with 2 more JBW charts (pictured below) and I just couldn't resist starting on one. It is now 1/2 done and won't take long to finish. I wanted to do these for my Seasonal Shelf to go with the LK December Stamp so I'll make a Tuck Pillow to put it in. I think the next mitten will be done on dark blue fabric with white stitching and then I want to stitch one in green, maybe on light green with dark green thread.

Scandinavian Mitten by JBW Designs
Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Jobelan with WDW Garnet

Time for me to head for bed but I'm going to make sure DH's boots aren't on the path to the bathroom first.
Until Next Time, Have a good weekend....Happy Stitching

DH's Surgery

Well the surgery was postponed yet again. Medicare requires that you see the doctor within 30 days of the scheduled surgery and with all the problems we had getting it scheduled it is way past the 30 days. The repair that is being done is partly something he has lived with since he was a child and the tear duct is causing no problems so he just may say the heck with it and not do it at all. He did have his pulmonary test today and that went very well.

Now for the good news. We have moved into the 21st Century and now have High Speed Internet....good bye dial-up. Our 30th anniversary is next month and this was my gift along with a new cell phone with unlimited talk time and long distance.

Not much stitching for me today but did some shopping. Since we were on the other side of town had to check out the Michael's there. I wanted some more beads to make some more Fobs and also started getting things for the 12 Days Exchange. It is a really really nice Michael's and will probably go back to that one since it has a better selection of things than the one closer to home.

Well it's getting really late and I must do some more web surfing since it's so much faster now.

Until next time....Happy Stitching

Scream House Interior

Moving right along on the interior of the "House". All the roof (ceiling) parts are done along with one wall. I'm almost done with the second wall. The first two walls will have a place for either scissors or needles so not a lot of stitching on them. I'm leaving the witch for last since her face is done over one and she will be my reward for getting the stitching done.
Roof 1 (love his silly grin)
Roof 2

Roof 3 (another froggie here)

Roof 4 (got to love the purple hat on the spider)

Boolah & Foolah (the scissors go on this wall)

Probably won't have another update until Saturday and hope to be done with the walls by then. Will be spending some time tomorrow (today) and Friday waiting for DH Tracy while he has some more medical tests and then his eye surgery. I'm not real comfortable stitching in waiting rooms so not sure how much I'll get done.
Until next time....Happy Stitching

Scream House Updated

The final exterior wall is stitched ... WOOHOO!! I still need to outline each wall and roof section with perle cotton but will save that to do while I'm waiting during DH's surgery on Friday.
The Interior is now under construction and the floor is done. The Interior walls don't have as much stitching on them so with any luck they will be done by this weekend and then contruction can begin. There is a chance this will be done by Halloween so keep your fingers crossed for me.

Until next time....Happy Stitching

Some Fun and Finishing

Date Night.....

Date night Thursday was really enjoyable. We went to the Belliago to take pictures of the new Fall display. I have included a couple of my favorite parts of the display here (you can see more in my Webshots, link in the sidebar). It was getting dark when we arrived so the pictures didn't come out as well as I would have liked. Guess that means we will have to go back for the ones that didn't come out. Below you can see my favorite guy, The Apple Tree. His eyes would open and close, he raised his eyebrows and talked. It was really fun to see the looks on the kids faces when the tree talked to them. I also love the scarecrow, he must be working since there were no crows to be found.

We went out again on Friday night for dinner and a trip to Michael's. They were putting out all the Christmas decorations and I found some really pretty cording. There was 1 complete aisle of just Christmas ribbon and I will be going back for some to make a cube with my "Tis the Season" finish.
Scream House......

The 3rd exterior wall is finished. I'm not about 3/4 done with the 4th wall and then I can start on the interior wall. I don't think the interior will take as long to do, much less stitching to be done on them. With any luck I'll be done by Halloween.

Another Finish.....
I love the beaded Scissor Fobs but not enough to pay the price charged for them. I have one that a friend made me a couple of years ago and thought I could make them too. I had problems finding the clasp for the top but lucked out while at Michael's and DH found just what I needed. This is my first attempt at making one and I'm really happy with the way it came out. Now I'll not only haunt the stitching sections of JoAnn's and Michael's but will be looking for beads and charms too so I can make more fobs.

That's what I've been up do since last I posted, hope you enjoyed the pictures and will venture over to my Webshots to see the rest of the Belliago display.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Happy Pumpkins

Happy Pumpkin Needleroll
Kit by Shepherds Bush

I finished this cute needleroll this morning and have added it to my Halloween shelf. I love the colors for Halloween and it was a fun quick stitch. Shepherds Bush kits are so nice to work with. They always have more than enough supplies in them and could probably do another needleroll with what was left over.
Still working on "Scream House" and hope to have another wall finished today. Won't be doing any stitching tonight as DH Tracy and I have a date. I know we are going to the Balliagio to see the Fall display and will also go to Starbucks for coffee and people watching but not sure what else the evening will hold. With the cooler temps it should be a very nice evening for strolling on the strip and taking pictures.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Frost on the Pumpkin

Burrrrrr....it has certainly turned cold here in the Southwest Desert. We had a low last night of 46 degrees. Now that may not seem cold to many of you but believe me it's cold for here at this time of the year. Sure makes for good sleeping weather.

French Country - Pumpkin by JBW Designs
Stitched on 32 count Lambswood Jobelan
with WDW Terra Cotta and DMC
I just love these JBW Designs. The pumpkin stitched up really quick and I love all the little critters in it. I can't wait to do more of these designs. Not sure how I'm going to finish it off but I'm sure something will come to mind soon since I really want to get it on display.

Another exterior wall of Scream House is completed (Except for beads on the fence). Two more exterior walls to do and then I can move to the inside walls and roof. This is really a fun one to stitch and can't wait til it's time to put it all together.
Hope everyone has a great week of stitching and
Until next time.....Happy Stitching

Santa Day 10-10, A Finish, A WIP and A Start

Santa Day was a very good stitching day for me (well most of the day was). I worked on a total of 3 projects and after a visit from the froggies did manage to get some work done.

A Finish.....
'Tis The Season by JBW Designs
Stitched on 28ct Water Lily Linen
with WDW and DMC
This turned out to be a quick design to stitch and very enjoyable to do. I think I will attempt to do a "cube" with this or maybe a flatfold. I have another JBW tree design in my stash that I'll have to pull out to do to match it.
A WIP......

This is where I had a visit from the darn froggies. They really like the eyelet's and wanted me to stitch them over and over. Not as much progess as I would have liked but every stitch done today will be one less to do tomorrow. I know it won't be done for Christmas this year, maybe next.

Just Nan's "Christmas Soldiers"
A Start....

I really need another Fall piece to go on my new shelf and I just couldn't pass up this adorable design. I'm stitching the pumpkin on 32 ct Lambswool Jobelan with WDW Terra Cotta. In the picture the threads look more red than they actually are. This will be another quick stitch and hope to have it finished by the end of the weekend.
We are finally having some Fall like temps. It got down into the high 40's last night. Great sleeping weather but I'm afraid it won't last as it is predicted to be back up in the 80's the first of next week. Hope you are having a enjoyable weekend with nice weather.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Update on "Feathers"

I had been feeling a little guilty about not working on "Feathers" for a while now but it took a little kick in the butt from Kelly to get me to pull it out and put a few stitches in. I can't believe how much I did manage to get done. Tracy was real happy to see it being worked on again.

Here it is in all it's glory and you can see more of the clouds.
Now I'm back to the "House" until Friday when I'll work on "Tis the Season" again.
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

More Scream House

When I was trying to decide which part to do next I noticed the little froggie on the exterior bottom and just had to stitch it. This part took me most of the day with all the color changes but was time well spent I think.

Kelly has been giving me a bad time about "Indian" becoming a UFO (but I have NO UFO's just projects not worked on in a while) so I took him from the bottom of the WIP pile and will be putting more stitches on him tomorrow (did about 50 stitches tonight).
Time for bed now so look for a update on "Indian" tomorrow night.
Until next time....Happy Stitching

Weekend Stitching

Spent the weekend stitching on "Scream House" and "Holiday Holly" Biscornu. I finally finished framing all the interior walls and roof of the House and then started on the exterior again. This is my favorite of all the walls. Love the ghost in the tree and the the spooky guy hiding behind the tree. Working on the very colorful floor now, it's going to be so cute with it's little froggie. The colors in the scan aren't really true, the fabric is more beige than grey and the tree is a very dark brown. One wall done and seven to go before I need my construction permits.

This is what the border on the Biscornu looks like. The color doesn't show up that well here but it is a dark red on opalescent fabric. I did get all four of the borders done (I did tell you I'm doing two of these didn't I)

I think we may be finally getting some Fall weather. It even rain during the night on Saturday but I slept through it. It has cooled off considerably with the days being in the low to mid 80's and the nights in the high 60's to low 70's but 90's are predicted again this week. I so want it to be Winter.

Hope you have a great stitching week!
Until Next Time....Happy Stitching

Holiday Stitching

Halloween.....

The stitching for the "boo" Tin Top is now done. I still have to add the beads and the center embellishment. I should be able to get both the tin and the needlebook put together this weekend.

Christmas.....

Today (Friday) was Santa SAL in my ILCS group so spent a little time working on a new project. I got this chart on my last venture to the LNS. I think this is just the first of many of JBW Designs I will be doing. I love the charts and how easy they are to do. This shouldn't take long to finish.

"Tis The Season" by JBW Designs
Stitched on 28 ct Water Lily Linen with WDW

As many of you already know I LOVE the Sweetheart Tree designs and this is one of the new designs. Again I will be doing two of them, one for myself and one for Deborah M. There is a matching scissor fob that I will do also.
Here's hoping everyone has great weather this weekend and gets in lots of stitching. I'll be watching my usual, NASCAR and Football and stitching the days away. There is a slight chance we may even get some rain which will make the weekend perfect.
Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching

Halloween Spirit

With all the Halloween stitching going on here I think my DH Tracy has caught the spirit LOL I guess you could call this a RAK from him. He went to WalFart today to pick up a few things for dinner and came home with these cute towels. The label says they are kitchen towel but I think they are too nice and soft for the kitchen so will use them to decorate the bathroom (maybe they will help keep the frogs in there). Aren't they cute? Just had to share with my online friends.

Last Finish for September

Just under the wire I finished my ornament for September. I have been trying to do at least one ornament each month and had almost missed September. These little ones are really quick to do (can be done in a day with some serious stitching.

Just Nan's 12 Days of Christmas Whimzi
Five Golden Rings
I know there will be a marathon of stitching on these in November to have them all done in time for Christmas but I am determined to have them all on the tree this year.
Now I'm back to stitching on "boo". I want to get the tin topper done ASAP so I can move on to working on "Scream House" again.
Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching
